The new Logistics Readiness Squadron Supply Complex for the Alabama Air National Guard’s 187th Fighter Wing replaces the outdated 1950s-era base supply facility, meeting the needs of modern operations. The complex includes 6,000 square feet of administrative space, featuring a Logistics and Planning area designed to comply with Secure Program Access Facilities standards.
Adjacent to the administrative area, a 26,800-square-foot warehouse provides a spacious, column-free floor plan to support Traffic Management Operations, Central Storage, and Clothing/Mobility storage needs. Along the north side of the facility, a 2,000-square-foot Hazmat pharmacy centralizes and safely accommodates hazardous material storage for the base.
A strategically placed loading dock on the east side supports deliveries, including F-35 airframe components and engine modules, with efficient offloading capabilities. Specialized storage areas address weapons and sensitive materials associated with the F-35 program, designed in alignment with Lockheed Martin’s Facilities Requirements Documents.
The complex integrates seamlessly into the base’s new pedestrian concourse, connecting it to the F-35 Flight Simulator Facility, the Main Aircraft Maintenance Hangar, the Communications Facility, the Squadron Operations building, the Aircraft Maintenance Unit, and the Weapons Load Training Facility.
