Located on historic Dexter Avenue in downtown Montgomery, this project involved the tenant build-out of an existing building to create a welcoming hub for veterans. The space was designed to support connection and provide access to local resources for those who have served. SS&L provided architectural and interior design services, along with environmental wall graphics that reinforce the organization’s mission. The floor plan includes private offices, an open work area, and a conference room designed to accommodate confidential meetings and consultations. Interior design elements balance the building’s historic character with modern functionality. Existing exposed brick was preserved and complemented by sleek contemporary finishes, creating a space that feels both grounded in its surroundings and forward-looking. The completed environment supports the work of the Alabama Veterans Resource Center Foundation, which connects veterans and their families with employment, wellness, and education resources across the state.
