The design of the Criminal Justice Training Facility Complex consists of a multi-purpose fitness facility, a 200-person cafeteria, a formal auditorium to hold approximately 125 people, two dormitories, each with a 150-person capacity (two persons/room), and two administrative/academic buildings. The program was constantly changing as the SS&L team became increasingly aware of new functions the Department of Corrections and Department of Public Safety desired. Furthermore, there were routine cut-backs in the size and quantity of rooms, due to budget. As a result of these changes, it was imperative for the design team to be flexible and accurate in representing the program. Extensive consideration was taken during the programming phase to determine the functions in specific buildings and which buildings needed adjacencies to best serve those functions.
