The Davis Theatre renovation on Troy University’s Montgomery campus pays homage to its rich history and the performing arts. Originally opened as a Paramount Theatre, this grand movie palace opened its doors on January 25, 1930, captivating audiences with talkies and Vaudeville shows. Throughout the years, the theatre has hosted a wide range of performances, including musicals, dramatic productions, chamber music groups, symphony orchestras, dance groups, ballets, and instrumental performances. SS&L undertook a meticulous renovation project to restore the theatre’s exterior to its original beauty, including the iconic grand marquee. With great care and attention to detail, the renovation revives the timeless charm and architectural splendor of the Davis Theatre. This endeavor honors the historical significance of the venue while creating an immersive experience for audiences, bringing to life the rich legacy of performing arts.
