In the heart of Enterprise, Alabama, a long-awaited dream is becoming a reality. The new Recreation & Aquatics Facility, spanning an impressive 69,000 SF, is set to be the largest municipal facility in the city’s history. Designed to serve as a hub for sports, fitness, and community engagement, this complex transforms the city’s recreational landscape. What once stood as a traditional gymnasium has been reimagined and expanded to offer an array of modern amenities. The project included the demolition of the outdated recreation center and small outdoor pool, making way for a four-court gymnasium, a hybrid six-lane pool with designated areas for both lap swimming and recreational activities, and a special toddler section for the youngest visitors. Supporting the aquatic features are two newly constructed pool buildings—one dedicated to concessions and another housing locker rooms and essential equipment. Former Director of Community Services & Recreation, Billy Powell reflected on the transformation, stating, “You can see our dreams coming to life. I can’t wait for it to open.”
“This facility is second to none. Our citizens should be proud to have this in Enterprise. I know I am.” – Enterprise Mayor William E. Cooper
Beyond athletics, the facility introduces a variety of spaces designed to enrich community life. A new fitness center provides a modern workout environment, while multipurpose activity rooms and a small social activity space create opportunities for classes, events, and gatherings. A dedicated administration wing ensures smooth operations and programming for years to come.
For city leaders and residents, this project represents more than just bricks and mortar—it’s a commitment to Enterprise’s future. Blake Moore, Interim Director of Community Services & Recreation, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Whether we are hosting tournaments, offering fitness classes, or hosting special events, this space is designed to meet the needs and wants of our citizens.”
