Contemporary Lakeside Escape – Lake Martin, AL

This house was designed to take advantage of the many beautiful views of the lake. The walls of the house are almost all glass from floor to ceiling with 8”x 8” rough timbers as the structural support. Large four-foot roof overhangs protect the interior from direct sunlight and give the house an indigenous effect on the site. The interior of the house is very open and all the social spaces, such as the living room, kitchen, and screen porch flow together and exemplify the relaxed easy-going spirit of life at the lake.
