The newly appointed Firm Directors are:
MICHELLE ENFINGER, AIA, NCARB
Michelle, who joined SS&L in 2013, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role. A graduate of Auburn University with Cum Laude honors in 2011, she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to excellence. Michelle’s passions extend beyond architecture; she enjoys traveling, caring for her pets, camping, and spending time with her husband, Terry, and their daughters, Ellarie and Maggie. Her recognition in 2018 on the Dothan Area Young Professionals 20 Under 40 list is a testament to her leadership and community involvement. Michelle is also a proud graduate of Leadership Dothan Class 41, an active member of the Dothan Tuesday Rotary Club, and an engaged member of the Covenant Methodist Church.
JAKE JOHNSON, AIA, NCARB
Jake Johnson, who joined SS&L in 2016, is a dynamic leader with a passion for architectural innovation. Graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors from Mississippi State University with his Bachelor of Architecture in 2016, Jake has been a driving force within the firm. In addition to his architectural pursuits, Jake enjoys running, traveling, and the meticulous restoration of his 19th-century home. His commitment to the profession is evident through his service in various roles, including President of the Montgomery Chapter of the AIA in 2021. Jake’s dedication has earned him multiple awards, including the prestigious MSU School of Architecture Academic Achievement Award.
NICK VANSYOC, AIA, NCARB
Nick Vansyoc, who started at SS&L in 2013 and currently serves as the Auburn Branch Manager, brings a multidisciplinary approach to his architectural leadership. Graduating with Cum Laude honors from Auburn University with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Architecture and Interiors, along with a Master’s degree in Community Planning, Nick’s expertise is diverse. Beyond his architectural endeavors, Nick enjoys spending quality time with his family, keeping up with advancements in the science world, and traveling. Nick’s commitment to community involvement shines through his active participation in organizations such as the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, Lee County United Way, Opelika Kiwanis Club, and his alumni status in the Leadership Lee County program.

As Firm Directors, Michelle, Jake, and Nick will be responsible for overseeing key architectural projects, coaching project managers, fostering client relationships, and driving innovation within the firm. Their extensive experience and expertise make them ideal candidates to guide SS&L into its next chapter of success.
